Meeting Global Change-Makers

One week, 40 international students at each of the four locations, and many ideas for the world of tomorrow: The Global Entrepreneurship Summer School teaches entrepreneurial know-how, hosted by renowned institutions in Germany and worldwide. For the 2023 edition, I designed the key visual and adapted it for 2024.

The keywords for the design were: community, network and global connection, hands-on creation and change, sustainability, diversity, and the entrepreneurial journey. With its bold typography, it not only meets the zeitgeist but also remains timeless — serving as a visual framework to be adapted year after year.

While the editions till 2023 took place in Munich exclusively due to the pandemic, the “GESS” 2024 welcomes students at four locations around the world: Shanghai, Cape Town, Munich, and Querétaro in Mexico.

The design reflects this: the globe expands specially and the four colours referencing their assigned city show a more multifaceted playground than in 2024. They meet and merge into one another, forming a unity that spans the world despite their diversity.

Farbpalette der Global Entrepreneurship Summer School

The corporate typeface of the Global Entrepreneurship Summer School appears in the headline and further text. Adding to it, the brand colors — divided into primary and secondary colors — create recognizability.

The hues of the locations for the 2024 edition intentionally differentiate from the GESS brand colors. They each pick up a shade from the cityscape of their location.
